Nankai Workshop on Combinatorics and Geometry July 13–17, 2026 | Tianjin, China

The Nankai Workshop on Combinatorics and Geometry will be held at Nankai University in Tianjin from July 13 to 17, 2026.

The workshop will focus on recent advances surrounding the g-conjecture/theorem and Lorentzian polynomials. The program will consist of ten one-hour research talks and two short courses, one dedicated to the g-conjecture/theorem and the other to Lorentzian polynomials.

About Tianjin

Tianjin, one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government in China, is located in the northeast of the North China Plain and is the closest seaport to Beijing. The city is one of the biggest industrial and port cities in China and it is also known as "the diamond of the Bohai Gulf".

Tianjin has a long and illustrious history, from an ordinary fishing village to the most important trade center in Northern China. Tianjin was considered to be one of China's most important military fortresses in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) due to its particular geographic location as an access point to Beijing, the national capital. Its name "Tianjin" was graciously bestowed by the Emperor Zhudi in the early years of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). Tianjin means "the place where the emperor crossed the river". Transportation Guide to Nankai University

1. From Tianjin Binhai International Airport:

Please take metro line 2 (bound for Caozhuang Station) to Tianjin Railway Station, then change to metro line 3 (bound for Tianjinnan Railway Station), get off at Tianta Station and walk to Nankai University.

2. From Tianjin Railway Station:

Please take metro line 3 (bound for Tianjinnan Railway Station) to Tianta Station and walk to Nankai University, or take bus No. 8/No. 832 and get off at Balitai Station (near the east gate of Nankai University), or take bus No. 845 and get off at Shuishanggongyuanxilu Station (near the southwest gate of Nankai University).

3. From Tianjinnan Railway Station:

Please take metro line 3 (bound for Xiaodian Station) to Tianta Station and walk to Nankai University.

4. From Tianjinxi Railway Station:

Please take metro line 1 (bound for Shuanglin Station) to Yingkoudao Station, then change to metro line 3 (bound for Tianjinnan Railway Station), get off at Tianta Station and walk to Nankai University; or take bus No. 859 at the South Square of Tianjinxi Railway Station and get off at Balitai Station (near the east gate of Nankai University).

5. From Tianjin Metro Line 11:

Please take the metro line 11 (bound for Shuishanggongyuanxilu Station) to Nankaidaxuebalitai Station and then walk for 5-15 minutes to Nankai University.

6. From Tianjin Metro Line 7:

Please take the metro line 7 (bound for Gulou Station) to Nankaidaxuebalitai Station and then walk for 5-15 minutes to Nankai University.
